Buyback for all new loans
Klear is introducing a Buyback mechanism for all new consumer, business, and corporate loans. This means that in the event of a loan being overdue for more than 90 days, your share will be automatically repurchased.
When the mechanism is triggered, you receive back both the full remaining invested principal and the accrued interest that has not been paid up to the moment of repurchase. In this way, we provide you with greater peace of mind and predictability when investing.
Platform visual updates
To make information clearer and easier to track, we have added a new “Repurchase” column. It will show which loans include a Buyback mechanism and which do not. A green shield icon indicates that the loan includes a Buyback mechanism, while a grey icon indicates its absence.
To make everything completely clear, we have also introduced a new “Interest % for investors” column, which replaces the existing “Interest (%)” and “Expected return”. It reflects the actual effective return an investor receives on their investment without additional calculations. For loans with Buyback, this represents the expected return, while for loans without Buyback it represents the nominal loan interest rate.
Comparison: With or without Buyback
| Feature | Loans with Buyback | Loans without Buyback |
|---|---|---|
| Action in case of delay | If overdue for more than 90 days, Klear automatically repurchases your share | If overdue for more than 120 days, the loan is sold to an external collection agency |
| What you receive | 100% of remaining principal + accrued interest | Part of the remaining principal + accrued interest |
| Investor return | Lower, due to the cost of the Buyback mechanism | Maximum, you receive the full contractual interest |
| Recommended strategy | Allows higher concentration | Requires broad diversification |
The new Buyback mechanism combines predictability for your invested funds with the potential for stable returns. In this way, you get a more transparent investment environment where you can choose the most suitable strategy based on your personal risk profile.
