Bulgaria will adopt the euro on 1 January 2026. This is an important step for the entire financial system, including Klear. The good news is that for you as an investor or borrower, the process is fully automatic: everything will be converted by law, and you don’t need to do anything.
What does this mean for your loan?
Your outstanding principal, interest, and repayment schedule will be automatically converted into euro at the official fixed exchange rate. The amount you owe will not change, only the currency will.
Your interest rate, the way it is calculated, and all other terms of your contract will remain the same.
Your instalments will continue on the same schedule, with the same dates and calculation logic. The only difference is that amounts will be shown in euro.
What does this mean for your investments?
Your portfolio will be automatically converted from bulgarian lev to euro at the fixed exchange rate:
1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN
Your return, investment approach, and allocation rules will remain unchanged. The only difference is the currency in which amounts are displayed.
Scheduled maintenance
To implement all technical changes, the platform will be temporarily unavailable on 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026.
After that, you will see everything in your profile in euro: balances, portfolio, repayment schedules, and history.
FAQ
Do I need to do anything because of the euro adoption?
No. Everything is converted automatically by law. No action is required on your part.
Will the terms of my loans change?
No. Only the currency changes, from BGN to EUR. The principal, interest rate, and repayment schedule remain unchanged.
How is the outstanding loan principal converted?
Automatically, at the fixed rate of 1.95583. The repayment schedule is updated with the same dates and structure, but the amounts will be in euro.
Does the way I pay my loan instalments change?
No. Your payment method remains the same. If you pay from a bank account, it will now be in euro.
Do I need to sign new documents?
No. The currency change takes place by law and does not require new contracts or annexes.
If I’m waiting for funding from Klear, what amount will I receive and when?
Our goal is not to carry over loans awaiting funding from the current year into the next one. However, if you have an active application where the decision is not final yet, we will contact you to confirm the parameters.
You can always verify the amount in your contract: it is stated both in BGN and in EUR, so you will know exactly what you will receive.
If I have requested a refund within the 14-day period or an early repayment, what amount should I transfer?
If you make the payment after 1 January 2026, simply log in to your profile and check the amount in euro. It will already be recalculated at the fixed exchange rate.
What happens to my investments?
All balances, active investments, and transactions will be automatically converted into euro at the official rate of 1.95583. Your investment terms remain the same.
Will my investor return change?
No. Your rate of return does not change. Only the reporting currency becomes euro.
What will my balances look like after the transition?
You will see: euro balances, a euro-denominated portfolio and investments, reporting and history automatically converted.
Will the platform be temporarily unavailable?
Yes. Klear will be in scheduled maintenance on 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026 to finalize the technical changes. After that, everything will be available in euro.
How is the conversion calculated?
Automatically, using the single fixed rate applicable to all institutions: 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN, in accordance with the legal rounding rules.
Will there be rounding, and how will it be done?
We follow the legal rules: standard mathematical rounding to the second decimal place.

If the third decimal digit is ≥ 5, it is rounded up.

If the third decimal digit is < 5, it is rounded down.
Example: If you have a due instalment of 300.55 BGN, it converts to 153.66877… EUR and is rounded to 153.67 EUR.
If I transfer money to Klear at the last minute, when will it be processed?
Before the scheduled system maintenance begins, we will process all amounts that have already been received in our account. Banks will announce until when they accept transfers on the last business day of the year, and from what moment they begin processing transfers in 2026.
Once the amount is received by our servicing bank, we will reflect it in your profile on the first business day, as usual.
Will there be changes to my user profile?
All functionalities remain the same. The only difference is that all amounts (balances, investments, and loan parameters) will now be displayed in euro.
Will Klear’s Tariff change?
No. It will remain the same, with service prices simply displayed in euro.
